Nestled in Bailey, NC Camp Charles begain serving Scouts in 1928 and served as the primary summer camp for the East Carolina Council until 1968. Today it is used primarily for weekend camping and small district events. Camp Charles serves as the host to Wilson Area, Tar River and Tri-County Districts events and the Council Cub Family Campout. The camp has seven campsites each with running water, a shelter, and electricity and two primitive campsites. Three of the equipped campsites have adirondacks. Other camp amenities include: ■small fishing pond ■large lake ■row boat rentals ■Hawley building (available for rent) ■Christian cabin (available for rent) ■hiking trail
