Nature High Summer Camp






The Nature High Summer Camp is accepting applications from Utah high school students for the week-long adventure held July 16-21, 2012 in Ephraim Canyon, Utah. Nature High Summer Camp is a week-long educational camping experience offered to teenagers interested in learning more about natural resources and the local environment. The event is held at the historic Great Basin Environmental Education Center, located on the Manti-LaSal National Forest in Ephraim, Utah. The camp will be held July 16-21, 2012. To encourage academic study and careers in natural resource management, the camp exposes students to the activities and missions of public land managers. Specialists from federal and state agencies mentor students on-site in a variety of subjects, including forest ecology, soil science, water quality, ecosystem health, biology, geology, and help the students apply their knowledge to solve public land issues. Students also take a tour of Snow College to explore their academic options regarding natural resource careers. Nature High Summer Camp is open to all Utah high school students, sophomores through seniors, who are in good standing with their high school. Registration is and includes meals, lodging and supplies. The deadline to apply is May 20.
