At the Ullswater camping, caravaning and Marine Park, we specialise in a friendly welcome, practical family facilities and a range of accommodation to suit all needs. Our family has been here since 1958 and our park has plenty of space combining a sheltered position beneath Cumbrian fells with excellent access to the nearby shores and waters of Ullswater.

The Lake District of England

The Lake District is the largest of England's National Parks and resides in the county of Cumbria and at 885 square miles forms about one third of the county. A variety of locations within the Lake District represent marvellous places to stay. It is packed to its slate rafters with self-catering accommodation, and is unlike any other place in England in the sense that it has the right combination of mountains, lakes, forests and natural wonders.

Famous for lakes and mountains but there is so much more to discover. It is the birthplace and home of the UK's mountaineering heritage, and is a place of pure tranquility and beauty, great landscapes and activities that cannot be rivalled by anything else in England. It is filled with villages, town and rural cottages, and the culture is magnificently unique.

The Lake District is well known for its glorious and unmatched scenery.

It is such a wonderful location and is one of the most beautiful areas of England which is in fact easy to get to from most parts of the country, with a good rail link to Windermere or Penrith and the M6 passing close by and it's just over an hour and a half away from Manchester and Liverpool airports.

The Lake District is a place where anyone can relax and be at one with nature and should be near the top on everyone's list of places to visit. It truly is an awesome place and once you've arrived, you will never want to leave!
